We sometimes experience those last moments, as physicians, when a patient passes. It is an intimate moment shared between loved ones and the soon departed. The ICU nurse was soon the medium between family and the patient. In these difficult times, an ipad is procured and a video conference call will be held. Her husband, full of tears and emotion, kissed the screen and said his goodbyes. Her daughter, sobbing, initially did not want to remember her in this state, but eventually gave in. The ICU nurse held the screen, for what seemed an eternity. She broke down.
